Alex and Jas

August 17, 2016

Wow. What can I say?

I expected wedding photography to be intense, but it was so much more than that. Words that come to mind? Happy, magical, beautiful, tearful. From my photographer point of view, seeing people cry because two people are happy makes me want to cry with them.

Especially with Alex and Jas.

These two were the sweetest couple, and to have so much love and affection, both between them and their friends and family, throughout the day was incredible.

The bride's dressing room was full of the hustle and bustle of everyone trying to get everyone else ready, the MUA doing a fantastic job with Jas' makeup, the family and friends doing each others hair, and kids running around the place, causing general havoc.

The day took place in one of the most gorgeous manor houses I have ever seen. There was a long sweeping driveway leading up to the house, with the house having smaller buildings next to it; a shop, a garage, and two smaller cottages (shown below).

The grounds were something else. Having 4 different outside areas that surrounded the house, every single one had grass and bushes cut to the standard of the queen.

When all the guests were seated, the wedding party made their entrance, with the flower girl spreading petals and smiles as she came through the door.

This is where the nerves started to set in... The first kiss was fast approaching, and I had to get it... No if's, no but's, no retakes. If you miss that first moment, then you miss all the magic that goes with it...

In the end... I got it. Bang on, I don't know what I was worrying about!

After a short break for the newly-weds to have a chat with everyone, and chill out, it was time for the couples photos. Now this is the part where, as a photographer, you get to have fun, be creative, and do what you do best! Here is a little slide show of some of my favourites from the day.

The guests were equally as fun to photograph! One of my favourite shots was the one below of the family of four, and the two kids pulling faces, in my opinion, making the photo that much better.

I wish you all the best!

All in all, this was one of the best experiences I have ever had photographing. I cannot wait for the next opportunity I get to photograph a happy couples wedding.
